We are seeking a talented highly skilled Unreal Technical Designer with a proven track record of implementing efficient data pipelines for mobile platforms to join our team and play a pivotal role in building and optimizing our 3D content creation pipeline. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data related workflows and streamline our production process, ensuring high-quality assets and efficient content creation specifically for mobile devices.
What you'll do .
Extensive experience working with product engineering 3D data pipelines, with a focus on locating, ingesting, and structuring data for real-time rendering applications.
Ability to establish a clear and intuitive hierarchy and naming conventions for 3D product files, ensuring ease of access and use.
Mobile-Optimized Data Prep: Design and build custom pipelines to prepare assets for optimal performance on mobile and embedded devices. This includes optimizing geometry, textures, materials, and shaders for efficient rendering on limited hardware.
Streamlined Mobile Workflows: Design and build custom pipelines to automate and simplify complex processes for artists and production teams, ensuring seamless integration of work specifically for mobile and embedded hardware projects.
Unreal Engine Mobile Integration: Translate creative concepts and technical requirements into functional real-time assets within the Unreal Engine environment, optimizing for mobile and embedded devices.
Mobile Best Practices and Standards: Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for mobile real-time design within the team, focusing on Unreal Engine implementation for mobile and embedded hardware platforms.
Workflow Solutions: Collaborate with artists to create tools and workflow solutions that streamline the entire pipeline from asset creation to final delivery for mobile and embedded hardware projects using Unreal Engine.
Data Management: Develop and implement efficient solutions for data management, asset tracking, and version control, ensuring seamless integration with Unreal Engine projects.
Documentation: Create documentation and training materials for pipeline users, focusing on Unreal Engine usage and best practices for mobile development.
You'll have .
3+ years of experience in Unreal and data prep related workflows.
Maya, VRED, Unreal engine preferred.
Strong understanding of 3D content creation workflows and common industry tools (eg, Maya, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter, etc.).
Understanding of how material and shaders function in different applications, fundamental understanding of shader code principles and understanding to engine tools (eg Unreal material editor, Maya)
Experience with real time and pre-rendered CGI processes. Familiarity with taking renders to production, visualization methods, image composition, texture baking optimization.
Experience with version control systems (eg, Git, Perforce).
Solid understanding of data management, asset tracking, and pipeline optimization principles.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for creating efficient and robust pipelines that empower creative teams.
Experience with real-time engines like Unreal Engine, Unity, Kanzi, etc.
Even better, you may have .
Experience with UMG and prototyping within Unreal Engine.
Experience with TeamCenter a plus.
Experience shipping assets in a game development environment.
