TEAMThe Woven By Toyota North America Systems Engineering team focuses on systems thinking in innovating, developing, and managing advanced AD/ADAS systems that prioritize safety, meet client needs, and drive Woven By Toyota advance product development for integration. The US SE Team's responsibility is to define system performance criteria for product features and perform verification of system performance for deployment to public roads. The candidate will report to the US Systems Engineering Manager.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Our Systems Engineering team is looking for an Autonomous Systems Engineer who is knowledgeable of AD/ADAS systems, and safety processes, capable of translating user requirements into autonomous system requirements, working with multi-disciplined design teams, managing interfaces, managing technical risk, transitioning technology from research concepts into program-specific efforts and verifying those designs meet operational needs.RESPONSIBILITIESWork cross-functionally with product, technical program management, software, and hardware engineering to analyze system behavior and develop features for AD/ADAS systems Develop system level vehicle requirements and decompose to lower-level subsystems (eg sensor, Human Machine Interface, compute)Develop system latency budgets based on scenario analysis and working cross functionally across different disciplinesGenerate evaluation system for assessing system performance against product level Key Performance IndicatorsPerform functional safety analysis Define and support execution of systems verification and validation testing at the vehicle levelMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS6+ years of professional work experience, preferably working around complex system developmentMaster's degree in one of the following fields: mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, or related disciplinesExperience developing complex systems combining remote sensing technology, artificial intelligence, and controls for a safety critical applicationExperience translating user or product level requirements into an architecture and performing a proper requirements allocationDemonstrated experience performing engineering analysis & trade studies of entire system covering perception, electronics, mechanical components, controls, and safetyDemonstrated experience defining and executing verification and validation testing for complex systemsExperience in the design and development of automotive or related electrical and electronic systems and/or components (including sensor and remote sensing technologies) or computer architectures or hardware/software for safety critical applicationsExperience in requirement derivation, tracking and verification tests processes (V diagram) in automotive applicationsExperience with AD/ADAS international regulations (eg Euro NCAP, UN ECE, US NHTSA)Experience in systems integration, vehicle testing, functional safety, and vehicle launchSoftware coding skills (matlab, python or C/C+)NICE TO HAVESAbility to influence, negotiate, and inspire others in a matrixed environmentUnderstanding of typical vehicle communication protocols/interfacesProven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high level directionFor California: $140,000- $230,000 a yearYour base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
The California pay scale for this full time position is $140,000- $230,000.
